H̶u̶m̶a̶n̶s̶ Beings of the Ateneo

Move over, Humans of New York, there’s a new photoblogging site in town.

Beings of the Ateneo is an art series dedicated to capturing people in their element and listening to their stories. We don’t just limit ourselves to humans, that would be too anthrocentrist, no, we take it even further and interview non-humans as well. Yeah, that’s right, the bar has been raised, mothafucka.

Gonzo:”How do you feel about life, Fr. De La Costa?”
“…”
Gonzo:”Your silence speaks volumes.”
Raul:”He’s a statue…”
Gonzo: “Shut up, man, he may be a statue on the outside, but for all we know he could identify as something else.”

Remember, Jesus loves you. No, not Jesus Christ, Jesus Gomez, my drug dealing cellmate.

“Don’t you know that smoking kills?”
Anonymous smoker: Yeah, actu–
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t talking to you,  you anthrocentrist, I was talking to the cigarette.”

Alt Caption: Share-a-condom, because love knows no bounds, just STDs.

My dad was a huge cock.
“As soon as I was born, I was taken away and sold. I never saw my mother.”
“It’s been a long time since that day. Do you still think of her often?”
“Technically, as soon as I was born, I got laid. By my mother.”

The first time I banged m prof, it was for an A. The second time was because he was great.
“We met in a philosophy class back when college was still offered at the Marikina Cat Impound.”
“But why do it here?”
“We want to show our human friends that it’s possible to return to a state of tabula rasa, where you’re not affected by social norms that inhibit freedom.”
“What about the other cat?”
“We let him hold the camera.”
